10 Shishapangma Main, Central And West Summits Close Up At Sunrise From Shishapangma North Base Camp  [10 of 31]

I had a perfect view of Shishapangma Main Summit to the left, Central Summit in the middle and the West Summit in shade above the north face on the right from Shishapangma North Base Camp (5029m). Jerzy Kukuczka and Artur Hajzer were the first to climb the northwest ridge on the right to the west summit (7966m) on September 18, 1987, continuing on to the Main Summit. Kukuczka thus became the second climber (after Reinhold Messner) to climb all 14 8000m peaks.
